Is there a master plan?
Conspiracy theorists will like this article for I am beginning to visualize either total incompetence in the management of our country, its resources, people and future towards prosperity, or am I am visualizing a long term manipulation of the financial system to drive everyone into a Third World Market Place?
Wal*Mart™ CEO recently stated that “ …less people are buying, …they have no money to spend”.
Credit Card debt is up 54 billion dollars this year.
Visiting Ryan’s Restaurant in Christiansburg the business has fallen off and the only cash flow is senior citizens with their social security checks. Waitresses, already cut back and paid $2.13 an hour are being faced with more downsizing. Their plight is coupled with the cost of gasoline: do their hours justify the cost of gas to get to work?
The real estate property value scam a few years ago was obvious, but people bought into the false Get Rich Quick of greed thinking that they could sell and buy with security. The mortgage companies, major investment banks, all held a promise to wealth in cahoots with raising taxation, which created more cash flow-then the bottom of the bubble fell through.
In fact: Fannie-Freddie, and Sally Mae, the largest of the loan makers are 6.4 TRILLION in debt. A quarter of the homes in foreclosure are titled with the US Government and no one really knows where the true paper titles are. A Swiss bank, maybe?
Whoosh! Your property is now worth less than what you borrowed on it and you are stuck with a short sell to get out of the big debt for a lesser, but still big debt. Millions are broke. In desperation the Veterans Administration is guaranteeing loans to veterans up to a million dollars. However the seller has to pay points (thousands) and that even makes it harder to sell since you will still have debt when the property is sold-and be sued on it.
Communities are now faced with the same scam. Raise property taxes and you will have more equity in your property. This is not so. The last town hall meeting in Floyd was filled with gray heads concerned over their frozen pensions, declining purchase power and being mandated to give more blood to a dying system of management based on corruption, incompetence and greed.
One of the questions raised was”…why do the city officials make so much money?” Think of the CEO’s with their multi million-dollar golden parachute retirement.
However this is all local small town agony. Larger communities have the same problems and same questions but until there is a state level proposal for a Proposition #13, as they did in California some years back, there is no tax relief.
There are countless pamphlets and letters in my mailbox, and yours, asking you for contributions to some unknown cause. Most are all scams. Save your money and if you feel charitable give it to your church, or a hungry neighbor. This next year, 2012, will be a horrible year with violence and endless lies, smoke and mirrors. The problem is not who to vote for, but the lesser of two evils.
I suspect, from a conspiracy view it is advantageous to ensure the young people have a useless education and remain illiterate, therefore being uneducated they will be better controlled as future serfs and maybe-voters. The priority of (New Jersey) firing one half of the teachers, and requiring them to teach a double class is stupid -well I used to teach, and 25 is about the limit- fifty and sixty is uncontrollable. There are no priorities for long term planning.
Firing police and fireman is just stupid-maybe we ought to hire the gangs and ex-felons to police the countryside like they do in Australia. I am waiting with baited breath to see the Federal master plan for hiring civilians into some sort of block warden police as volunteers. Yes, at my advanced age, armed with a truncheon I will protect the neighborhood as they did in WWI and WWII.
I find it gratifying that the master plan of the Federal Government says we have NO INFLATION…at least from their perspective while their bean counter economist advisors are always saying it is better, yet they say nothing about the increasing number of those poor souls not working. The current estimate is 62 million unemployed male adults.
The only thing that works in any political process is that Governments fears a pitchfork rebellion. That means you get away from your TV set and attend town meetings and form civic action groups that will bring voting pressure. Currently on Wall Street are protesters in an orderly process being hustled away by the police. Flash mobs are becoming more organized and it is expected next year that the 10 major cities in the USA will be internally under siege by the disenfranchised.
One smoke and mirrors is the trillions in debt. The reason we have debt is that we sell it as a hedge to other countries as an investment in prosperity. One reliable commentator who is inside the process said this economic problem will continue for another 15 years. HUMPH! In the Victorian days in England a depression rocked on for over 50 years. We might call this the modern “Dark Ages”. Things are not getting better, and this is a stable financial area with Universities providing cash flow.
The unfeeling Mayor in some Missouri small town that was devastated by the tornados said there would be no FEMA trailers allowed for the homeless-victims of the storm. Will he be re-elected? Probably will be as the bottom feeders are swept along by the bigger fish in the political tank.
The mid-east is changing. Currently we want Kadaffi leaders out. He will not go. I am betting that we will put troops in after the election. Libya has three great resources: Oil, the worlds largest unpumped water aquifer and cheap labor. Israel is in a blockade now with Turkey- a Muslim state- getting uppity and Palestine vying for state recognition at the UN. All of the mid-eastern mess points to a problem in oil supply to the western countries. That also implies we will be pumping our own sands drier, moving great aqueducts from the Great Lakes to Colorado to process oil shale in the rocks.
Will there be war with Iran? Probably, once Iran and Iraq form an alliance again and kick the USA oil companies out of their oil fields.
The real threat facing us in this next presidential election is not Democrats or Republicans, but a hidden agendas of creating a theocracy in the government wherein be it Muslim or Christian the dictates of a few will have absolute growing and exponential power to dominate your life. Think carefully before you vote for a smiling religious fanatic as warned by President Jefferson, and the reason the US Constitution separated church and state. They had the experience with a thousand years of theocracy in England.
Keep prepping, keep praying, keep looking for work and learn to make do with what you have, It is not going to get better.
