Adventure awaits at Anchor Stone
Tired of the every day humdrum, boring existence? Do you want to get away from it all? Then let us take a look at ESCAPE! Every year people seek escape and follow the herd to the same old boardwalks, sunburns and plastic foods. Some take cruises only to find that they are floating gambling casinos. That their port of call is a barbed wire enclosed tourist Mecca of vendors selling Chinese souvenirs and carved grotesque coconut heads. If you veer off the path you are likely to be robbed by poverty stricken natives.
Modern tours are not the bikini clad lithe girls and handsome young men in thongs; just old gray heads trying to get out of the rut and do something-anything.
Maybe you are sucked into a theme park by the children’s whining and you fork over a couple hundred to get in the gate so you can buy junk food and more Chinese souvenirs to show what a wonderful good time you had riding around on the roller coasters.
I am sorry my Dear Readers this is not adventure; this is crass commercialism. What I want, and I believe you would want, is a real adventure in a foreign land far removed from Ronald McDonald. I suspect that you would like to have an educational experience to share with like minds and peers. Comfortable, fair priced accommodations and safety from the banditos and terrorists.
So come with me to an enchanting land of age-old mystery-Turkey. Where the foods are pure, organic and simple fair that your health craves. Meet real honest to goodness people who have been maintaining the same lifestyle for centuries, holding dear to their traditions of hospitality, and a reverence for history.
I have been a world traveler for over 50 years. Now in my elder years I have my films, notes, remembrances, and a host of life long friends from around the globe to share with. This is what later years are all about-friends: sharing experiences. I must say I am interested, and always have been interested in biblical periods of time from their social perspective; the legends, folklore and now recent discoveries that we, as lay archeologists, can gain and add our insight into history’s learning channel of life.
Are you tired of watching your couch potato grandchildren engage their X-Box interactive for socialization? How about taking them on a real expedition with you and let them interact as we did as a child with real life. Let them become closer to you as they ask you and your guide how Noah and the famous Noah’s Ark was conceived, and constructed. Let them actually see, touch and bring back with them samples of the petrified wood from this famous Biblical relic recently unearthed in the Arrat Mountains of Turkey.
This is how it works. You arrange your own passage to Istanbul Turkey. You will have that day to settle down, shop a bit in the bazaars and sample exotic foods. The following morning Director (Jerry) Bowen will gather your small group of like minds and you will set off on your first leg of adventure flying on an Airbus to Lake VAN. You will be stopping at a very old hand made monastery: AKIAMAG, for a seafood luncheon and continue on to DOGUBAYAZIT for 4 nights in a 4 star quality hotel.
The food is superb. It is KOSHER with a breakfast buffet of fruit and local cheeses while you view the picturesque countryside-a pastoral setting of goats, sheep and their herders.
It is a 35-minute ride from the hotel to the Noah’s Ark Visitors Center established by the Turkish Government who authenticates that this is indeed the site of Noah’s Ark discovered in 1948 and subsequently excavated.
This is at an elevation of some six to seven thousand feet so you will want to wear a sun hat, sun glasses, a light jacket and sturdy walking shoes. There is a Medi-Vac hospital near by for your protection, however the trails and access are easy with no reported accidents in the past, save exuberance. Of course you must bring your video movie recorders, cameras, and if so talented your brush and easel. There is no rush.
Near by is an extinct volcano and artifacts you can still collect. One of the most interesting souvenirs are the hand made Turkish rugs that are a “steal of a deal” and are sent direct to you in the states (or elsewhere) custom duty free. I was thinking of collecting some more ornate Samovar tea services, and authentic curved short swords.
You will receive a free copy of “NOAK’S Ark Uncovered- an Expedition into the Ancient Past” written by Henri Nissen, 319 pages of facts and pictures. This is a most impressive read. I am in my second reading now of this historic find and the Danish author, unbiased, describes scientific, political, historical and biblical views from many religions about the site. If I were a bit wiser I would have bought this in advance from a must see web site: www.Anchorstone.com that really gets into the nitty-gritty of your ESCAPE and ADVENTURE of a lifetime.
In addition there are collector’s editions on DVD’s. My favorite is “ Revealing God’s Treasure”. This more than highlights Noah’s Ark, The Red Sea Crossing, Sodom and Gomorrah, Mt. Sinai and the Ark of the Covenant.
Following this tour you may wish to continue on in to Israel and Egypt as a conclusion. The reason I am beating the drum for this trip of a lifetime is it is not commercial, plastic Hollywood. This is the real deal.
Contact Director (Jerry) Bowen at www.Anchorstore.com today as the tour starts on September 14tth, 2010.
God Bless,
Mark Steel
