Sabers are now rattling-Russia warns of WAR
The likelihood of war in the Mid-East is quite possible. Currently Saudi Arabia and Turkey, with a total of 25 Arab nations, are banding together to attack Syrian Forces, principally around the city of Aleppo. This has been a stronghold of ISIS and Sunni control since 2011.
This is probably the most important of Sunni controlled cities, with the recent gains of Syrian Military, backed by Russia Air Strikes, is falling. Once in control of Syrian Forces this may end the hostilities in the region. If this fails, then the war in the region will continue for years embroiling not only Syria, but also Iran and supporting Shiite States.
All this seems just a military goal but the covert implications in the world of International Intrigue to establish a dominant Shiite State that is controlled by Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia galls the hatred of the Sunni Saudis and Turkey. Although religious hatred of one Muslim with another – Shiite, or Sunni, has morphed into territorial control for oil, and control of the Mid East.
Consider that Saudi Arabia is massing 350,00 troops, 2415 F15 fighter aircraft, 20,000 tanks, and 460 military helicopters. Turkey, with similar assets is massing for “Northern Thunder” a joint military exercise in Syria. Obviously this is a prelude to formal war, and as the Russian Premier stated: ” World War III.”
While the military troops and hardware are massing the International UN call for humanitarian aid: food- must be provided to the beleaguered civilians. Russia, Syria, USA, Saudis, and Turkey all agree to end hostilities for one week to accomplish this goal. Interestingly enough this UN position now gives the hostiles time to regroup and move Northern Thunder into a favorable tactical position.
Recall I wrote about the Turkish President (now titled President for life) started a kafuffle with Russia by shooting down one of Russia’s airplanes for violating air space. This led to Russia reacting with severe financial sanctions and encircling Turkey with very sophisticated Radars, missiles, and troops. Turkey retaliated with bluster sending troops and tanks to face the Russians. The President of Turkey stated, as recorded in the European News, to initiate Russia to attack Turkey and Turkey being a NATO member would co join with Turkey and wage WWIII against Russia. He was then alleged to approach Saudi Arabia to be declared the Sultan of all world Muslims. If true, he is unstable. Then again, all warfare is dominated by those unstable.
Turkey hates Kurds and if you will re-read my article on the Shiite Kurds tribal state that for centuries overlaps Syria and Turkey; now continues ruthless attacks on the Kurds in Turkey proper, but also Kurds in Syria. Oddly enough the USA supports the Kurds but attacks with some aircraft Shiite Syrian positions.
Although the USA, primarily as a provider of weaponry and materials, with limited attack aircraft support, if drawn into this possible scenario of Sunni attacking Shiite-which includes Russia, an international state of WWIII could evolve. Our President Obama and his advisors are all pulling out their hair trying to control the situation in the Mid-East.
From a strategic standpoint if Turkey invades Syria in numbers, (they already have a small number of troops in Syria) they will be reducing the Turkish homeland to Russian forces to wit: drawing Russia into an international war, which Turkey wants. Strategic planning is months in advance.
Russia has the world’s best tanks; the world’s best aircraft and the worlds best trained hard-core Army and Navy. The USA who has the potential to regain that position has been decimated with fiscal cuts over the past 7 years and would take at least, 3 or more years to recover to engage competition with Russia. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the 25 or so Arab countries are no match with Russia, Syria, Hezbollah, and Iran.
Lest we not forget that China has advisor troops in the area supporting Syria legal government.
We can understand that Turkey, a member of NATO, with the largest Army in the region, has been involved in ethnic cleansing with the Kurds and Christians, has decimated their treasury over the past 116 years of existence-formally being the Ottoman Empire, gaining International Turkish State status following WWI. Turkey now holds 2.5MILLION refugees and threatens to release them for another influx into Germany and the European Union if their demands are not met. Principally Turkey wants free borders with Europe, which has been denied. They want billions in Euros ostensibly to feed the Refugees but their coffers are almost empty in that Muslim State.
Sunni Saudia Arabia is almost broke from lavish spending in their heyday, and bad investments. Much of this is reflected in the recent worlds oil price per barrel dropping in the low $30.00 range. Iran, a Shiite competition also has oil, lots of oil and has just shipped a tanker to Europe and will be sending more. They can undercut the Saudis.
Historically it is observed and taught in Universities that oppressed people denied a slice of the pie will rally around their leaders, usually a Religious control, and go to war. Starvation, loss of family lands, customs, traditions and peace drives mankind into WAR. At this time the world economy is slowing down, some say “coming apart at the seams”. This affects poor countries first and they are the first to rise up in rebellion blaming their leaders for the problems, but in many instances we are all caught up in the universal web of economic despair.
Will nuclear weapons be utilized in this desert landscape if Northern Thunder enfolds beyond an “exercise ” and Saber Rattle? We should know in the next few weeks, maybe the USA news media will report-they are not reporting now.
