Top of the list?
Putting priorities of threats to the United States and your home is a challenge, or does it matter? The world today is in far worse shape than it was in WWII, which I remember quite vividly. We are faced with internal political, economic, religious freedom, moral decline, and the list goes on. Perhaps you have thought of these momentous issues like I have and how they impact on your future.
The following is my list of potential threats to the United States of America.
Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant: The bottom line is that this is the “China Syndrome” that cannot be fixed. The continued radioactivity of 200M Becquerels of deadly isotopes such as Strontium 90 is poured into the Pacific Ocean at 80 or more tons of underground water each day. Admittedly there appears no promise of a solution based on modern technology. This poisoning of the great oceans, the basis of all life in the world will continue for a thousand years, perhaps 20,000 years-80 tons a day, on and on.
Global Weather Change: Since a human life is measured in a few short years-as compared with the eons of time- the perspective of global weather change is slow, yet it is real and no matter of political-economic short sighted monetary goals will change it. Needless to say we are faced with an impact of drought, no potable water, migration shifts within our loose borders, diminished ability to grow food and economic collapse.

Ukraine War: This is a major problem that may grow into a regional shooting war between Russia and the European Union, therefore dragging the United States into the conflict. With out analyzing the issues beyond the media scope is that Russia looks ahead and wants the vast food production of grains in the fields of the Ukraine as well as an ultimate control over the Bulgarian oil fields. The United States banking system has trillions invested in the European Union and of course fears the financial loss of revenue that would crumble the crapshoot of our stock market. Global depression looms.
Nuclear War: The threat of being drawn into a nuclear war hinges not on Russia per se, but on India and Pakistan, which is tedious at best. If there is a further rift in territorial expansion by the Muslim Pakistan and the Hindu India the escalation of decades of border war may well escalate. This of course will bring in China who seeks more fertile land for food production. The present and long term bonds between China and Russia open new views as to nuclear war. Treaty obligations with India and the United States
will involve the United States subjecting us to a nuclear missile exchange.
ISIS the Caliphate of AD 700/2014: History demonstrates in the mid east that ruthless control through a dictatorship appears to be the only way to contain the unrest. When Sadam was ousted and hung, the oil consortia were jubilant as the United States Army was in control. For political interests the army was drawn down with the guise of stability with the new Iraq government. Afghanistan was in the same boat as we are drawing down our last army stability for that region. The entire United States invasion of the mid east did culminate into the current debacle of Muslim revolt and the forming an alliance of Muslim anti western ideals, (oil from Iraq and pipe lines through Afghanistan). To the ignorant unsophisticated Arab Muslim, hell bent on following the dogma of the Muslim rhetoric, tens of thousands have joined in a holy war against western ideals and seek to reinstate the history of AD700. Even if there is a “coalition of the willing” the United States cannot, alone, overturn this tide of humanity. The Caliphate of the Muslim empire will prevail.
This will diminish Israel within this region. Iran with its potential nuclear potential will gain dominance along with the moneyed interests in Saudi Arabia (linking its oil with the west). Perhaps the United States will recognize Syria, with the insistence of support for the oil pipeline to the coast.
The attempts of appeasement to the Muslim interests have failed. Military options have failed.
Border considerations: Three major issues are involved in the United States border with Mexico. (1) Migration of tens of thousands of people from Central America causing unknown disease, economic stress, and cultural impact. (2) Links of the drug trade barons and ISIS agents are threatening the United States. Texas Governor Perry has already made a statement that ISIS is entering our border. (3) Lack of cohesion within our Presidential, Senate, and Congress on working together to solve this problem of border security as required in our Constitution. See my previous articles on this subject.
Ebola: Will the current horrible plague of the 21st century continue to spread about the modern world? The United States Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization are stating that EBOLA is the most dangerous organism and may well strike the entire planet, Most likely from air plane travel allowing physical contact on planes and therefore into foreign countries. The United States of America is a foreign country.
There is no known cure for this disease with the exception of nutritional supplements, immune system enhancers and antibiotics for secondary diseases. Major laboratories in the United States, Switzerland, and others all are working on this “miracle cure”. However it takes a vast sum of money-millions- to develop research as well as time and testing. It is common in the western world to test new vaccines on the very poor in foreign countries. Africa is one of these. The vaccination of the uber wealthy, political influential, and the military will be the priority.
If EBOLA reaches the United States there will be panic and disruption of services.

Cyber Attack: Most people seem to think that a cyber attack is an attack on their credit cards. Recently millions of people have been hacked and there is a scramble to change security numbers in banks, cards and accounts. However the real threat, a cyber attack- is from a foreign government destroying the vast computerized infrastructure of electrical grids, police, military, food distribution, communication, medical services, banking and of course the one worry by the public is credit cards, I Phones, and the internet for games. With today’s modern financial empire war strategy, cyber war is in the forefront.
Live long and prosper. God Bless,
Old Timer
